Good news about our upcoming Popular Direct overdraft changes.
Effective October 11, 2022, we are making changes to our overdraft policies for savings accounts, including eliminating returned non-sufficient fund (NSF) fees. These changes will allow you to focus on the things that matter to you.
What is an overdraft?
An overdraft occurs when at the end of the business day we determine that your account does not have enough available funds to cover a transaction.
We will continue our overdraft policies of either returning the item unpaid or paying it and overdrawing your account. Starting October 11, 2022, some fees and practices associated with our overdrafts for savings accounts will be changing.
