Account Management

To enroll in online banking and create a User ID and password for digital banking services, follow instructions on the enrollment page. Use your Popular Direct Online Banking user ID and password for both online banking and for Popular Direct Mobile Banking app.

How can I withdraw funds from my account?

  1. Transfer funds online between your eligible Popular Direct accounts.
  2. Transfer funds online to a linked external account at another U.S. financial institution.
  3. Set up preauthorized withdrawals.

Savings account withdrawals are limited to six per calendar month.

How do I link an external bank account in online banking?

Sign into Popular Direct Online Banking and select "External Transfers” from the menu and follow the instructions. Only checking, savings, or money market accounts located in the United States with a valid ABA routing number are eligible to link.

Any external account linked during account opening cannot be changed during the first 60 calendar days after opening your Popular Direct account. After 60 days, please contact customer care at 1-800-274-5696 to de-link the linked account. A new account can then be linked following the above instructions.

Each time a new external account is linked, it may not be changed for 60 calendar days.

How can I deposit money into my Popular Direct savings account?

  1. Transfer funds online between your eligible Popular Direct accounts.
  2. Transfer funds online from a linked external account at another U.S. financial institution.
  3. Deposit a check using the Popular Direct Mobile App.
  4. Set up direct deposit.

How do I change my interest payment method?

To change your interest payment plan, please contact our care center at 1-800-274-5696.

How do I enroll in E-Statements?

Sign into Popular Direct Online Banking and select "Documents” from the menu and follow the instructions. It may take up to 30 days to stop receiving paper statements. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking Change your document delivery method under Documents.

Can I view past statements?

You can access to up to five years of past statements if those past statements were delivered electronically. To view your e-statement history, click All statements.

Payable on Death (POD) is an arrangement that can be made for Popular Direct accounts so that designated beneficiaries receive funds from the account in the event of the owner’s death

Up to 3 individuals or 1 Trust can be added as designated beneficiaries per Popular Direct account.

To add an individual as POD designated beneficiary, please provide the full Social Security Number or Tax ID number and relationship to account owner. Please include last 4 digits of the account and send a secure message through online banking.

To add a Trust as POD designated beneficiary, please provide the full name of the trust, as listed in trust agreement, social security number or tax ID number, and date the trust was established.

After we receive all required information, we will add/change the account POD in 1-2 business days and will confirm via secure message.

If you are listed as a designated beneficiary and the account owner is deceased, please contact customer care.
